The former Old Orchard Beach ME contest is still looking for teams for their August 11th/12th event.
They have moved to a new location this year - a water park in Sacco, Maine. Teams get 6 tickets to the water park with their entry. The contest has been renamed from Smokin' at the Ballpark to Thrillin' and Grillin'.
The contest features a $7500 prize pool, and a 50/50 shot at The Jack. If you are thinking of competing, you must sign up by the 15th of July. If they don't get 25 teams, they will cancel the event and refund your entry fee, so there is no risk to you of paying for a non-qualifier.
The new location sounds fun. Historically it's been a laid back event with an organizer that tries really hard to keep the teams happy. It's about 45 minutes from the Maine/NH border.
They need about 6 more teams. (They were in this position last year...and ended up with 32. For some reason this contest always has a lot of last minute entries.)
