Wow this saw makes it easy
To cut some oak pieces that are about 6 in in diameter. Ive had the oak in the back yard for some years not able to use it because they were too big to use in my grill. I cut the wood down to about 3 in chunks.I think this is a great saw good price, I hope the quality is there to last. I will post some pictures when I can.

I use my antique sawzall for that.

I use my sawzall with the tree pruning blade. Just be careful if you use it, it's brutally sharp.

Agreed about holding the wood need to be careful. Yeah I could have bought a saws all but just need something for around the house that was inexpensive and easy to use.

I just use my $20 sawzall from harbor freight. that's a neat little saw though

We used one of these splitting chunks of firewood for our deer blinds up at deer camp this fall. Works like a champ and no electricity required. I would recommend this to anybody.

I bought a JawSaw to use for trimming back a bunch of Laurel bushes around the yard.
Handled everything I threw at it up to 4", anything larger I have a 20" chainsaw. Use a Shopsmith with a bandsaw to cut lengths into smoker chunks. The Alligator Lopper is another option you might consider.
