Great reading the overwhelming support for this event.
Although the Guinea Pig started in California, it has now grown up and left home. The concept is excellent, and the quality of people/organizations that come together to put it on is without equal. There were a lot of obstacles and negativity that Big Poppa had to overcome to get this event started a few years ago. It's fantastic to see such positive comments from those who were able to attend this past weekend. Now... what is this I hear about an ice cream truck and beer keg? ... ... ...

Fantastic contest as usual. The entertainment budget was a little light. That was the worst DJ I have ever seen, although he did bring the keg, so that helps. I was hoping DJ Sausage would jump on the turntables and fix things.

Cooking the chili dogs I used my hands and Tuffy used tongs he is a chef....Cotton gloves with the nitrile on top....I was so hot after I could only get 3 chili dogs down.....We had 5 board members there at all times and they were very impressed.

Scot Kee spent the majority of the day Saturday making sure that keg ended up empty instead of minding his pit and they got a 709... Coincidence? Or were Rocky and Bailey trying to keep him out of the way?

Jeff and I on patrol at 6 am. Here he is getting Shake and Bakes Beer Bottles. Remember Jeff owns KCBBQSTORE Joes KC and is a two time Royal winner amongst other many championships. He was the perfect partner...both he and his team along with the bps staff really worked hard
My good friends Brian Doyle Murray and his wife Tina judged Kids Q. You may recognize him from 6 years on Saturday Night Live and tons of movies...he also wrote Caddyshack JOdy of BPS, Jeff, Travis and I. It was choke a ginger day Friday night we had a Nathans Weenie Roast and teams brought Chili Chili Dogs Baby! Tuffy and I cooked 450 tube steaks. |

So the results....$450 included Kids Que where they got cash and got to keep the Weber, A Nathans Chili Dog dinner Smart Chicken, SRF Brisket and Smithfield Pork and ribs, Free ice, and Ice cream at the end. 16.3% made money or broke even and 63.3% cashed a check. 10.2% it only cost $200.
