Default Any good BBQ around Los Angeles

This is probably a long shot but here goes. I am flying out to the Left coast for work and would like to find a decent place to eat. I will be staying in Santa Ana, the last time I was out there the best food I had was at a small Taco joint and had some good Langua(? spelling) tacos but no decent BBQ. Help please

There's really only two great places for BBQ in LA:

1. My house
2. Big Mista (http://bigmista.com )

Scott's in Orange is good for BBQ. El Ranchito is not bad for Mexican, and then there's Moreno's in Orange, and El Gallo Giro in Santa Ana is the real deal. Cappy's in Newport for breakfast or lunch is worth a stop, too.

My recommendation is to check out some good authentic Mexican and Asian food instead. I mean, there's gotta be TONS of great BBQ in GA, you'll most likley be disappointed by any BBQ in LA.

Sorry, I know it's not what you asked for. But here's what I would recommend

Lupe's Hot Dog Stand (they're actually famous for their burritos and believe it or not the bean and cheese is amazing!)

Daikokuya makes some awesome ramen and Japanese food. I've only ever been to the Little Tokyo location

King Taco is pretty awesome

^^^ I agree with kyle corn.

Also, try taco trucks.....especially in Santa Ana, you're probably find one in every street corner....you won't go hungry.

I appreciate it everyone. Last time I was out there it was for a month and I must say this country boy can only handle so much ethnic food before I have some sort of breakdown.

I've never been to Bigmista's place, but I'd bet my arse that it'd stand up to any Q you're had before - and probably surpass it...of course, from his posts, Moose is quite the Q'er too. You've got two world class BBQers as Brethren there, no need to be disappointed.
