Well I have been lurking on this site for over a year now and have absorbed anough information and done enough practive that I feel I can actually contribute now...

I started Grilling years back but it wasnt until I went into a Smoky Bones BBQ 2 years ago that my Quest Began. It was the first time I had ever had ribs that were tender without being par boiled or god knows what else chain type restarunts do to there ribs and I was in love. I went out and bought an Old Smokey vertical smoker in the following weeks and began to practice. After about 6 months of weekend fun I decided it really was a hobby for me and got an offset brinkman that I still have. It has taken me almost 2 years of trial error and research to be able to say that my bbq is better then any BBQ joint I have been to ( and I have sampled many ) Smokey Bones is no longer even in even my top 20 BBQ joints...

BBQ has now become one my favorite weekend activities. I get orders from friends family and love every moment of it.

I am now in the process of building my first house and searching out the perfict rig for my BBQ island I have a 5 Burner Turbo Elite from BBQ Galore and need something of equal or better to sit at its side...

For my first BBQ porn pics please take a look here http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?p=326758&posted=1#post326758

Sorry for the long winded post I am probibley one of the younger members around here 26 so I am sure that there is alot I can learn.

Happy Holidays
Brad

Welcome aboard Brad. Glad you decided to step out of the shadows.

Welcome. I am a little freaked out that you have been stalking us for over a year though! You are not the youngest though, Vinnie Militant Squatter is like 15, just look at the size of his hands if you dont believe me

Welcome Brad. Glad you stopped stalking--er, lurking-. The food porn was impressive. Hope you continue to enjoy the ride.

Welcome Brad! What an excellent looking prime rib in your pictures from the link above. Glad you came out of the shadows and started posting.

I wish I had found this hobby at 26 instead of nearly 50. And I agree with you comments on the restaurant Q, I used to think that Bandanas was great Q, now, I haven't eaten there for almost a year and a half.

Welcome Brad... Those pics were great.

You'll get lots of recommendations on a good smoker for your new house.. You'll need to consider space limitations, $$ to spend, capacity requirements, ease of transportation if you wish to compete or cater etc.

And Sled's just joking... I'm 31... 26 is not that far off.

Welcome to the neighborhood. If you're finishing off a nice outdoor kitchen - consider something like a Spicewine, Stump's, or Backwoods cooker...they look nice, take up fairly minimal space (I'm talking about the patio/home models), and turn out some great que.

Someday (when my ship comes in) I would like to build a spicebox into a field stone structure.

And welcome Brad, lots of fine folks around here.
