New Masterbuilt Gravit Feed

I Dunno - Haven't Heard from Alejandro in months - several emails not answered.....Hope The Cartels didn't get Him...... ..... I was Hoping to have One a cpl months Ago........

I heard from him back in August and the plan was to have them out by year end.

I'd like to see how thick the metal is in the chute area. I was told years ago by builders that even 1/4" wasn't thick enough.

I would also like to know what the grease management section looks like. Looks like the entire lower section is high heat. Thin metal & a grease fire with a blowing fan would be very concerning to me

The bottom is a tray that funnels the grease into a small pan. The tray is also removable (I get a picture later). First cook last night and I'm liking it. Only have 2 complaints. The masterbuilt app was hit and miss for me (have chatted with others who say theres worked great). Was having problems connecting in the beginning and staying connected throughout the cook. 2nd issue is I think the built in grill temp probe is in a bad spot. It was reading about 25 degrees higher than my thermoworks probe ( also verified using the masterbuilt meat probe). So to run it at 250 i had to turn it up to 275. Held temps like a champ though and the grill temp probe is held in place by screws so I'll probably move it to get a better reading.

All in all I think I'm going to really enjoy this sucker.

Still hoping to hear more about this unit and the alleged larger one.

Lol mainly been posting in the facebook group. If you search masterbuilt gravity feed fans you'll find several people's post on it. I've done some chicken halves and turkey breast since my last post and both came out great! Really don't have any cons at this point. Doing some wings tonight.

How long does it take to snuff out the coals?
Not long at all maybe less than 10 minutes.

I may have missed it but can wood chunks be added in the chute with the charcoal? thanks
Yep. You can layer chunks in the chute and add them to the ash bucket through out the cook.

Wings turned out great!

If you buy the extra shelves, how many butts, briskets, or chix halves will it comfortably hold?

It depends a lot on how much everything weighs. Just guessing 4 to 5 butts, 3 briskets, 8 to 10 chicken halves.

Once again, it looks like I have waited too long to get off the naughty list.

I figure IF I started right now, Santa would not even bring me the wheels. So, I will have to shoot for "later".

I guess by then, there will be plenty of cook reviews- and on the longevity /durability. I wonder about the metal and the electronics. Maybe someone will bust out with a big cook. Holding 3 briskets and doing 3 briskets well might be 2 different things.

Pretty much everything I've seen has been high temp cooking (I'm the last person in America w/out a FB account, so I haven't had access to that). How does it handle lower temp, longer cooks?

The page before this one I posted a chuck roast. It was cooked at 250. It'll do fine for low and slow.

How big is the cook chamber and the grates? This thing is interesting. Read somewhere 1000ci model comes out in spring.

I wish I could remember. Most likely on FB (borrowed my wife's account) somewhere in the comments. It was totally unverified. Someone could have been pulling numbers out of the air. There were some comments from Masterbuilt about expanding the GF line, but they "weren't allowed to comment yet."
