Default Review: Baconnaise

Justin and Dave, of Bacon Salt fame, sent me some of their new Baconnaise to try out. Over the last couple of days I've tried it on a couple of different items.

Here's a little teaser...

Nice texture:

Went looking through the refrigerator for something to make a sandwich and found a leftover hardboiled egg. How about a simple egg salad sammie on good old plain "Grandma Sycamore's White Bread."

Dug out a couple of ABTs from the freezer. Mixed some Baconnaise with chipotle for a sauce on them:

On the egg salad it rocked. On the ABTs the sauce, even with chipotle mixed in was overpowered by the bacon, cheese and jalapeno.

Tried it on a simple piece of celery. It was really good.

Got a couple more ideas up my sleeve, but they are going to have to wait for me to be hungry again.

That's "CRISPY grilled shrimp po boy." I saw that masterpiece and heard it crush when you bit into it. Good Job. Now back to Baconaise.

I sent gift threepacks of Baconnaise to the nice folks we stopped and visited with on the way to/from Tennessee! They are both in awe of the possibilities.

So far, I've used Baconnaise as the "frosting" on top of meatloaf, with fine results. I can't wait to make deviled eggs and potato salad with it.

ohhh now I have to admit eggs and potato salad came to mind but my meatloaf has ground up smoked pork but in it along with the other ground meats and I bet a frosting of this would be good.

I know I like my hot chicken salad that has a mayonaisse base.
