Talking bge nomex gasket - alternate source

i saw this posted on the bge forum the other day and i just ordered a 0.125" thick 1" x 50' roll. looks to be the exact material sold by bge, but a whole lot cheaper. scroll down to the aramid fabric strips, aka nomex:
http://www.mcmaster.com/#aramid-fabric/=3eceor

here's the thread where i installed a bge nomex gasket on a large egg awhile ago:
http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=64479

i'll post an aramid fabric gasket install after i receive it. gaskets are considered a maintenance item so replacement is inevitable.

My gasket is in dire need of "inevitable replacement" so I'll be watching your install with great interest. I've bookmarked the page.

Last fall I said I'd wait to replace mine until spring. Spring came and I didn't want to be without the Egg for a few days so I put it off until Summer. Now I can put it off until Rick does his :)

you really don't need a gasket to keep on cooking, so keep firing her up
