Default Sams Club setup

For those that have cooked a Sams Club this year. Are they taking care of the cooks? Good power, access to water, ice, etc..

Haven't cooked it yet, supposed to be pretty much the same as last year.

Good power? Yes. They rent generators locally, but have a set of distribution cables and outlets that are reserved just for contests and travel from event to event to ensure they are in good condition.

Access to ice? It's a Sam's Club. Ice, meat, supplies. You could show up at a contest with nothing and buy everything there, including smokers and tents. You may, however, need to be a Sam's Club member. Unlike RD, Sam's doesn't have a day pass system. If you aren't, someone at the contest will be.

Water? It's a single central spigot, which depending on the layout of the store parking lot, could be some distance from your site. Bring buckets, and use the shopping carts.

It is on pavement, so be prepared to anchor down your canopy with weights.

Power is turned on at noon Friday, goes off during awards. Water as said can be a walk. Can't fill RV tanks. Other stuff available during club hours. Porta Pottys onsite. Can't setup until 9 and must leave right after awards. Can leave trailer overnight at far corner of lot but no security. Turn in very short walk.

Thanks guys. Only other KCBS cook down here takes care of us. Good power, water hookups and free ice.

Dude, while it not the Bedford set up. Its fine. Power works great, Ice and water are within walking distance.

Trash is picked up, there is an ash disposal site, gift bag has some items for use like paper towels, heavy duty foil and wet naps.

Far cry from most Texas comps, not sanctioned by KCBS.

The amenities are provided by the organizer, not KCBS. In this case, it is MMA and this is all they supply.
