Default Smokin' Red Dirt BBQ, Enid, OK (April 16-17)

Well now that the organizing is over, I'm looking forward to getting back out there myself! Tammy and I will be leaving for Oklahoma on Thursday night the 15th (assuming I get my taxes finished!!) to compete in Smokin' Red Dirt BBQ in Enid. We're really looking forward to it as we have heard so many great things about the contest. The reps for Enid (Ralph and Karen Williams) were here in Pleasant Hill judging this weekend and we got to hear a lot of good info on the contest. Looking forward to that and to seeing Ralph and Karen again... for the third time in a month (met them in Little Rock)!

So who else from here is entered and any advice for our trek?

Jeff

You too, Jeff! At Pleasant Hill this weekend, I tried to talk Donny into going to Jefferson City instead but no such luck! Leaving the kid at home so we can concentrate on this one. Gonna be a tough event but we're looking forward to it!

Sorry to hear that, Jeff... outside of Donny and Scott, I'm not sure I know anyone who's cooking this contest. I don't think I ever officially met Bart. Maybe we can just concentrate and focus on cooking! LOL! Anyone know how many teams are signed up?

Introduce yourself to my very close friends Mike and Don of Pigdawg. Tell them you are taking my place at breakfast...

Jeff, were those the guys you were with at the Royal last year when I dropped by?

Wow, Big Moe, you are doing some traveling this year! LOL! Yep, 75 teams will be the smallest I've done so far this year too. When are you getting in? We're gonna try to make it to Wichita Thursday night and drive on in Friday morning. I hope to be in by 9am latest. Not sure how many hours it is from Wichita to Enid. Anyone know?
