Default A tour of my new Trailer Smoker

Here’s a picture of my new pit. It’s a reverse smoker, off-set wood burning rig with 4 sliding racks in the main chamber, and a warmer box that can be converted to a smoke chamber via an internal baffle.

And for a short tour of its operation, Here are a few short clips.
1st I have a short video showing the fire box with adjustable heat deflector, which is controlled via a butterfly valve.
2nd is a clip showing the operation of the baffle between the main chamber and the warming box.
3rd is a clip showing the main chamber and cooking racks.
Last is just a walk around of the trailer pit as it looks today.
I’m pretty pleased with the build. There are a few modifications that I’m going to make. I’ll add a few t-stats and I’m going to have expanded metal added around the perimeter. I’m thinking of putting a “box” up front as well for better storage.

Good looking pit. Time to fire that baby up and see how it cooks. Don't forget to post some pics of the first cook.

Thanks!

Actually, I did post on it's first cook. Food turned out great too, which I have to admit, I was a little worried about, being new and only just cured. But it was a big success!

Here's the link to the thread where broke her in. There's a few good pictures..

Man, you did a helluva' job on that jewel.

I'd fabricate a box in the same shape of your diamond plate on the tongue.

That jewel is a BEAST!

Oh, don't let me take credit for the build, all I did was design/spec it! And even there, I just got ideas from other pits that I'd seen at competitions and on-line.

But the end product came out just as I'd hoped! And so far the food is coming out as I hoped too!

I like the idea about using the diamond plate for the box too. I'll probably go with that.

That looks really cool, I'd love to do something like that.
One question though ...isn't the tire in the way of comfortably working with the left side pit?
