Smoke in the Valley BBQ Competition

CBJ Percentage: 100%

Not quite 100%. Probably closer to 83%.
At my table there was one non-CBJ judge who had been pulled in that morning. She had never judged before. I believe that there was one non-CBJ judge per table. I know they were scrambling to pull in volunteer firefighters at the last minute.

This is not a criticism of the organizer, rather a criticism of the approximately 20 registered judges who were no shows.

1st Place Ribs ZBQ, way to go! :clap2:

Way to represent Rhode Island!

For only a second year event, I was AMAZED at how smoothly this one went! It was a great time and was filled with great teams. Congrats to 3 Eyz and PA Midnight, and all who walked! Already can't wait until next year.

Thanks guys. We had a lot of fun at this one. Congrats to all that walked!

And yes, they had a HUGE bonfire.

Congrats to all Brethren who walked and it was great to see some good folks I haven't seen in a while and met some new friends as well.
Can't get much better than that.

Thanks Ray. Paul gets credit for this one. This was his first time using your Fatboy in a comp.

177.7 on the Ribs.

Did he use the recipe that I told him on line?

At least a Mod on it? If so that will be so wicked cool!

told him it was a great cooker!

Yeah, we like the Fatboy a lot, but still learning it. Paul hasn't quite mastered the auto water yet. The recipe was one we switched over to in the middle of last year.

this kinda makes me feel better, thank you...it was great meeting some of you for the 1st time and was great hanging out with those I already know!! Ill be going back next year..

These guys put on an awesome event. I have seen many contests treat teams well but this was the first contest that I have ever been to where they drive around in the morning to each site and offer you coffee!!!! Thats what I call cooker friendly!! Thank you to George and the rest of the WATG? team for letting me hang this weekend.
