BBQ On The Farm- Yardley, PA (6/6-8) KCBS

Its right smack in the middle of my birthday.hmmmmm Couldnt think of a better way to spend it!!

How about more feedback on the event?

Cooker friendly, venue, access, etc.

Thinking about it...

Greg,
I judged it last year and in my ope it is top-notch,.got to meet with and discuss things at length with Tom and he runs a nice venue for the most part. I got around to visit most of the brethren after the turn ins and everybody seemed to be digging the scene.
I have heard no discouraging words from anyone.
dos centavos.

I did this last year and the year before when it was bbq on the river in bristol. Tom do's a great job running comps. it was very cooker friendly, plenty for the kids to do, great breakfast for cooks and plenty of room. we had my father-inlaw visiting the site, at the time he needed a walker to get around we talked to tom and he had some people waiting to escort his car to our site so he didn't have to walk! that to me is class!!! (he has since passed away and he kept talking about his time at yeardly)

I enjoyed it last year and also cooked with Sawdustguy the year before at the other location when it was BBQ on the River..

I almost certainly will be back (just checking schedule to ensure no other family conflicts) ...

Tom runs great contests. Excellent cooks breakfast complete with eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee, juice etc. Good music, nice sized crowd etc. It is also easy to get to via the highways.

The Polocks are not going back this year. We had a number of issues with the organizer and choose not to go back. If any one wants to discuss this you can PM Guy or I. It does no one any good to air dirty laundry on the forum.

Eagerly waiting for a response to the PM i sent you.

The contest website indicates that the local Hamton Inn has a special room rate for the event. I called the hotel and they knew nothing about it. I am going to contact Tom about this and find out what the deal is. I have never been there before, are their any other hotels that are decent nearby that anybody could recommend?

They probably just refreshed the dates on the website but forgot to call the hotel again. Seems like something they can work out quickly.

Hampton Inn appears to be the closest... few minutes away at most.

Check here for others.. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=hotel+yardley,+pa

I heard from Tom earlier this evening and that is exactly what happened. They just wanted to get the dates and the entry forms up ASAP. I am really looking forward to this contest!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn too last year, when we got in late on Friday night. I tell ya... it's awesome to have a hot shower AND a hot breakfast, but even better ...coffee to go, a discount, and it is literally RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from the event....

I can't wait to go back. See y'all there.
