Grinders + Buckboard bacon
If this works you should see photos of the two grinders I now have, along with the Buckboard bacon I mentioned in a previous post. If the photos don't work you will just have to take my word that it happened. I have not had much luck posting pic lately and I wont try again on these, if it does not work, sorry.
Side by side comparison of a #32 and #22 grinder. This shows the bearings in the #32 and though you can't see it the #22 has a plastic sleeve instead of bearings. Well it looks like you can see a bit of the plastic in the smaller grinder. Business end of the two grinders. And lastly a couple photos of my first time try of the Buckboard bacon. Sorry no finished fried pic, could not get to the camera fast enough. I need to pick up a knife, stuffing blade and a larger size plate for the larger grinder. Going to mount this one to a 1/2 geared motor with a set of lovejoy couplings, my only concern is if it will be two slow as I mentioned before, the rpms are about 30/32, seems a little slow but we will see. Don't know what I will do with the #22 grinder it could become a present to one of my kids someday, heck everything I own with be a present to my kids someday. Dave

Nice looking meat grinders :) I use a size smaller, clamp down hand crank style.
That bearing is a thrust bearing, and would be almost impossible to seal even if they inset it into the back. Its purpose is keep the auger turning smooth when you tighten the end up. |
