We have a bunch of tomatoes right from the garden I am trying to figure out what to do with...since......I don't like tomatoes.

I thought BBQ sauce would be a good idea...anyone done this?

Paul Kirk's book "Championship Barbecue" has a number of recipes for building condiments out of raw tomatoes. These would then get incorporated in to sauces

cut your tomatoes in half and smoke for bonus points

I wish we lived close to each other, because I love fresh picked tomatoes. :hungry:

CD

i'd cook off the tomatoes whole in the smoker, peel the skins, than proceed to make a smokey ketchup, use that as your base for a bbq sauce.

If you don't like them, why are you growing them?

I can't stand eating a tomato...

But my wife finds it odd that I will eat things made with tomato, or Pico. But I will not eat them plain, in a salad or on a sandwich

I thought I was the only oddball that can't stand just plain tomatoes.

Would rather eat them raw with salt and pepper than make BBQ sauce out of them.

Have you tried fried or pickled green tomatoes?

My mother used to pick tomatoes out of the garden and eat them like apples.....I could not stop gagging at the site of it.
