Default Satay's. Is Whats For Dinner.

Friday night usually means Satay night. Marinated chicken and pork skewers. Peppers-pablano, bell, new mexico green. Baby bellas, corn, zucchini, potatoes, onions. Also make some pot stickers and a dipping sauce.

I love seeing skewered food on the grill.

I don't know what type of satay sauce is sold over there but if you can score it from Javanese/Indonesian people I would.
Great looking food BTW!

I don't know about the Netherlands, but, even here in CA, there are not a lot of Javanese markets.

Ok,we've got Toko's (small Oriental stores) where you can buy good satay sauce...they sell satay sauce here everywhere in the supermarkets (mainstream/commercial stuff).....it's good but not compared with the Oriental stuff.

Totally right but still....
Those 2 are destined to be together (chicken or pork skewers with satay).

I wish I could say I put the satays sticks together but, alas, they are store bought. I didnt have any sauce for them but I just really like how they are without it anyway.

Southern California is one of the most interesting areas because I can find ingredients from around the world easily. I bought these satay and the dumplings at a store that caters to ethnic Chinese and Korean people. Its called, 99 Ranch Store. The array of foods spices and sauces it amazing. They have a fresh fish counter that includes maybe 15 to20 varieties a fresh fish. You pick the whole fish out and they gut and clean it for you. Very fresh. They also have shelfish crabs shrimp calmare. Amazing place to find exotic ingredients.
