Foodsaver Rolls/Bags?
I got one for Christmas and was wondering what you folks do when you need more rolls or bags. I have read elsewhere that I should not buy off-brand products because the quality is not good. I also read that the 3 ply Foodsaver bags are not very good - buy the 5 ply instead.
Any advice concerning the specific product (rolls I am guessing) I should buy and where? Amazon, Foodsaver, or another source? Thanks for your help! |

I have heard many like the off brand bags you can get on ebay, but I have not used them myself. I typically buy the FoodSaver brand, and get them at Wal-Mart or Costco. I think sometimes too much stock is put into the quality needed, it's not like you are typically storing stuff for over a couple months.

I ordered the off-brand bags in the past, and they were okay. They sometimes didn't seal in one shot, especially if there was seepage during sealing.
But, I sometimes have that same problem with the Foodsaver brand bags. CD |

Foodsaver runs specials all the time, and sometimes with free shipping, so I stock up when they send me an email alert.

Here is the deal I just got the other day. Not too shabby really. It might still be going.

Wow, that is a fantastic deal...and still valid. Looks like I'm gonna have to place an order now, thanks for the heads-up.
Here is the deal I usually get at Costco.

I bought one of the 50' rolls on eBay a few months back and for some reason they will not work at all with my machine. I'm not sure if its the bags or my machine but the seal just doesn't stick.
Foodsaver bags work perfectly everytime

I've used these with no problems aside from the occasional "didn't seal due to liquid being on the seal strip part", but that happens with the FS bags too...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TWO-50-Rolls...item2a1797857c The only thing that a person might have to complain about with the 50ft rolls is that they won't fit into the dispensing spot on the FS... to get around that, I just roll off 20 feet or so into another roll so that it fits. $0.35 per foot seems to be about the cheapest I've found...

Those are actually $0.47 per foot after shipping, still a good deal. The FoodSaver website deal I just got is about $0.29, plus you get a roll of those pouch bags

Noticed the shipping on it after hitting post, I think last time I bought they were 37 or 38 for 2 rolls with free ship... still pretty good when you look at the costco pack price working out to about .66 per ft before shipping
