I just wanted to let everyone know about this class. I posted this a few days ago in our store thread but it had only a few views.

Basic BBQ Techniques Class February 11, 2012

Taught By: Pitmaster Dan Hixon 3 Eyz BBQ

We will holding a basic BBQ Class at the store. Dan will focus on the fundamentals of BBQ to make you a better cook. He will show how to make ribs his way and learn some of his other favorite grilling and smoking recipes.

The instruction and lecture portions will be held indoors and demonstrations we be outside on different grills and smokers. Please dress for cold weather.

So, this is just backyard instruction for beginners? Is there nothing a comp cook can learn from in the class?

It is going to cover the basics of BBQ. Dan will talk about different cuts of meat, different cookers and other topics. Dan will show how he does his non competition ribs and other items.

This class is designed for the guys that I spend time with at our store helping to answer endless questions on how to make good food.

I think it will be a good time with Dan and get to eat some good Q.

I will keep my fingers crossed. If there is bad weather we set another date and if you cant make it dont worry you get your money back.

We have met at the Upper Marlboro comp a couple of times. I'm a CBJ that judges there.

It is on again. Should be posted soon on KCBS site. Big surprise, they moved the location AGAIN!. Jonathan had no control over that. The county told him to move it.
