I want to do some spares on the new UDS for super bowl. I am new to smoking, and this will only be my second cook on the UDS and i was hoping for some tips on rubs, and cooking times/methods. any help is appreciated!
By the way this site is great, and inspired me to build my first UDS!

I would go with a basic rub.
Most of the time my ribs are done in 3,5-4 hours on a low and slow cook.
I don't do anything with the ribs when they're on the grill, I rotate the grill once and check if they're tender....that's it.
Maybe somebody (with more experience) has better ideas.

Drums are rib cooking machines. Like Phubar said you can throw em on and leave them for 3 - 5 hours depending on temp or try and cook them a couple of hours on the grate, then an hour or so in foil, and then about an hour out of foil.

Good luck and make sure you tell us how it went.

I use a heat shield, put them on for 5 - 6 hours at 240. No foil, no mop, no spritz, no complaints.

So just any ol' seasoning, and sauce them when they are done? Off to the store after work probably tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the help, will try to get some good pron to post.
