Offset Firebox question

I am building a reverse flow smoker out of a 250 gallon and have a question about the size..... It says in the chart, I need a little over 19,000 cubic inches inside the box, but I have found a great wood stove with almost 17,000 cubic inches inside. Will it still function properly if I use a box that is slightly too small?

How big is the wood stove? depends on the dimensions

I will have to get the exact dimensions again, but something like: 18.5"x25x34

Your going to want more length for that size Tank... You will have to fill it up to get the tank up to temp.. I would look for a bigger wood stove.. or Make a conventional FB out of 1/4 or better sheet metal..

Your FB should be the size of about a 3rd of your tank.. keep that in mind..
