KCBS Rookie baptism - Brandon, MS

hey, I'm headed to my first KCBS event in Brandon MS the second weekend of May... the good news is that they only have 4 confirmed teams so far, which means I should make the top 15....ya think.. :thumb:

the people putting it together are wanting it to be a great event for cooks.....

any advice from the old farts out here on doing my first KCBS event?

The best advice has already been given. Have fun!

Also, your fellow competitors will most likely be willing to help and answer questions. At the competitions around here the rep usually asks for rookie teams to identify themselves at the cooks meeting. Raise your hand. Then the rep will usually ask for teams willing to mentor the rookie teams. Take note of who is willing to do this, and take advantage of the opportunity!
