Ultra frozen

Picked up two 13lb frozen birds last Saturday (11/22) & put them straight into the fridge. Chr1st - they're still 70% frozen... should keep tonights brine coooooool. :-D
I'm never buying frozen again - back to fresh from now on...

Your fridge must be turned down pretty cold. I put a 12.5 pound bird in mine on Sunday evening and this morning it was about 70% thawed. I will finish thawing mine tinight with cold water. You are right though about the fresh bird but they are nearly twice the price around here.

The fridge might be a little cool... but, nothing is freezing. And, I wouldn't want to compromise the temp of the beer.

You might want to do the water bath trick to thaw those out a bit more. You may end up with a very cold brine and not alot absorption into the turkey.
