Default Plum Wood

I'm heartbroken. I've had a plum tree outside my back door and for about the last 15 yrs it has made some wonderful tasting plums but alas this year no blooms and no leaves. It bit the dust but I'm thinking of reincarnating it by using it in my smoker. Anyone ever smoke with plum? Any unique characteristics? Any tips?

I use it all the time, it's quite mellow and works well with chicken, fish and pork. Its good with beef too, although maybe a touch more oomph would be better.

It's fantastic. If it was as abundant as pecan, that would be all I'd use. It's great stuff.

Jack nailed it. I use it some. Very mild, good for people who you know don't like deep smoke flavor...
