Here is a nice note from Charlie, who works with the Island Harvest adjunct that received all the donated food. Thank you all for helping out!
---------- On behalf of the Gerald J Ryan Outreach Center and The Mercy Inn Soup Kitchen than you all so much for the food you were able to donate to us this weekend The Gerald J Ryan Outreach Center was destroyed over 4 years ago by a fire started by an arsonists we are still in the process of rebuilding. How ever the fire did not stop us from serving over 500 families a week we are the largest Outreach on Long Island in one of the poorest neighborhoods. The Mercy Inn soup kitchen serves a hot lunch to 70-120 people Monday to Friday from 1200 until 1pm If is was not for donations like this from groups like you both places would have a real problem. Thank you again Charles Cicio Volunteer Food Coordinator for the Gerald J Ryan Outreach
