Thank goodness for insulated cookers, I start cooking at this time of year more frequently than the summer, and like Bobby I just the cooker outside the garage and I sit in the house and monitor temps until it needs tending to.

Move to FL. BBQ 365 days a year except for the occasional Hurricane and I have enough wind break to fight through that too. Almost November and it's still in the mid to upper 80's. Very humid though, so remember to bring extra lump because you'll go through more than normal.

Come on… I thought you were a KU boy…. One or two shots of ‘Old Jayhawk’ (aged at least 6 days in the bottle) warm you up fine…. Don’t worry about the vision thing, it’ll come back soon enough….

Actually up here at my house we came to an agreement…. We stop on December 31st, and don’t start again until the 1st of January!!!!

I'll be doing all year night cooks here. Move the Backwoods a few feet outside the garage door and it's good to go. Put a plastic coffee can around the guru (with lid cut for air) and it can rain, sleet and snow as much as it wants and internally, it will still hold 235 or 220 or 260 or what ever the Guru is set too.
Now Now Now, KC Bobby - I just might be get me a BW cooker. I got my eye on a Spicewine Trailer --- and then a Back Woods.

I'm a year round smoker too. Just can't bear the thought of not doing it, despite the weather. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

People think I'm farkin' nuts for cooking in the cold as well. Just fire up the potbelly in the garage, open some cold brew, invite the boys over, and its like August all over.

I really enjoy cooking outside in the colder weather, not when the wind is blowing and it's 10 degrees, but anything around 40 or so I'm fine with. I tend to overheat pretty easily so while I do but up with the summer temps (love the longer daylight too) I work much better in a cooler environment.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite meals of the year to prepare, outside of course.

I should've taken a pic last year when I had a 500 person catering job. We got 16 inches of snow the day before. We did plan ahead though, we put up one of our 10x10 awenings and wrapped it with tarps on the sides. Man that was a fun cook!!!!!!

For the first time I'm kinda lookin' forward to the colder weather, as I fully intend to light the grill (and my UDS when it's finished) with frost on the ground

Silly yanks,

I get to smoke year round down here. However I also have to deal with 100 degree heat with 90% humidity.
