I have a mini-WSM (SJG + IMUSA pot) and it is my most versatile cooker. It can hold an 8 pound chicken or decent size ham or butt. I've done briskets by cutting them in half and putting a piece on each grate. With the water pan out it is ideal for grilling on the top grate. Flare ups are much less a problem because the coals are far away from the food. It's awesome and when the new 14.5 comes out, I WANT ONE! But yeah... I'm Weber crazy.

I'm wondering about coal capacity? Sure you could fit 2 butts on it but would you have to reload mid cook? My 18.5 can maintain approximately 250*F 16 hours with an outdoor temp of 65 +. That's using about 12 lbs of KBB.

There is a lot less area to heat, so it may hold temps just as long.

not doubting weber overprice it, but its going to be so small that IMO, anything over 149.99 is going to be too much. cute and awesome yes, practical....barely. Put me on the waiting list for a 26.75 wsm

If they were serious on making it somewhat competitive they'd need to price it at $100 - $125. I think even $150 is a bit high.
I'll give then the premium over the Brinkman smokers however as previously stated you can do almost the same thing for a lot less.

I think $99 would be the sweet spot for pricing, personally. It's low enough that people like me will buy it no questions asked, and it will allow people to easily upgrade to that as opposed to the ECB. I could see an MSRP or $129, but they usually be on sale for $99 as well.
Oh yes, and I would be beside myself happy with a 26.75" WSM. I'm sure it would take a lot of fuel, though.

I personally think there's quite a bit inherent issues with a 26"" WSM.
Weight-wise, for shipping purposes it probably puts you out of UPS range and that would then really eliminate Amazon as an effective outlet. Also, price-wise you'd probably be looking at $700-$800 if not more, assuming that the 22 WSM is 4x the amount of a OTS and about 3x the amount of a OTG. Based on the cost of the 26 OTG you'd be looking at $900-$1000, not including tax / shipping. In all honesty I don't think Weber can make a vertical smoker that size and really have it competitive. I think the insulated box smokers will be more attractive once all is said and done. But I'm just a BBQ noob...what do I know.

It'll make a good raffle prize for BBQ events.

Well, in the official "guess the Amazon price of the 14.5 WSM" thread, I guessed $199.
http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=169194 That should be good enough for a freebie...let me call Weber CS.
