Just a heads up to all you KC'ers Price Chopper is running a sale through next Tuesday that has Pork Spares at $1.99/lb and Pork Butts at $1.49/lb... Thought I would share :idea:.

Can someone in the metro tell me what a good price is for a packer and a good source? Im going to check out RD this weekend and just need a baseline to start with. Thanks!
 
Thanks for the info, I cant remember the price but I usually get my briskets as Sam's club by the case. It is considerably cheaper to buy a case of brisket or pork butt there.
 
Depending on the grade of meat, brisket is usually around $2.50/lb at Sam's. RD will be similar. Butts are usually cheaper at RD than Sam's and about on par with the sale Price Chopper is running. The rib price is pretty good for the sale but I just have never been impressed with the ribs at Price Chopper. They are usually fairly small slabs. Still worth checking out though.
