Default Smoked Turkey Video Pron

Now don't get all over me. I spatchcock Turkey so I can fit more on the smoker and make a juicer bird and less dark skin by cooking it faster. So its just my way, not the only way. This Turkey is Brined as well in a high brownsugar, apple cider and Honey concoction that I discovered when I ran out of my usual brining supplies. I does have about a cup of salt in it. Its a keeper too.

I just got to be funky, ya know.

Let's see, as it stands now, and I will keep it this way.

Base
1 Cup Kosher George Clinton
1 1/2 Cups James Brown (there is no Light James Brown)
1 Cup Taste of Honey
2 Quarts of Anita O'Day (or More if you like this voice)

Extra Spices
Three Sticks of whole Patrice Rushen
2 Tablespoons of Montreal Steak Seasoning
2 Tablespoons of Prince (powdered)
2 T of your Own Rubb
3 Smashed Rick James Cloves... not the kind you smoke either.

Bring to a Mother Popcorn and make is funky, then let this break out in a Cold Sweat. Add at least as much water, the longer you brine, the more you should add. I do a rather quick soak for a boogie night so I keep it tight and flip to the "B" side half way through.

I hope you like Anita O'day. They say she keeps the Doctor away.

Wow! That's some serious song power.

Okay...

I understand the Kosher,
Assuming James Brown is Brown Surgar,
Taste of Honey must be honey,
I'm sorry but have no clue what Anita O'day is???
No clue on Practice Rushen
Montreal?
Prince?
Got the rub...I think.
Rick James pods?

I assume the rest is add all igredients, bring to a boil and then cool. Then add water to make the mix double. Times on a quick soak?

More of a golf guy than music guy...

Any help is appreciated.

They tear up the womb man. I think the funkiest thing to go main stream in a while. And they are musicians too.... not samplers.

Okay I will have mercy. Montreal is Optional but its that Steak Seasoning I have on hand. This is great on all sorts of things. Especially Brisket. I make my own depending on the price of spices. Great on brisket with some sour salt.

Look at the bottom of my post on the brine. There's a clue to what anita o day is.

Patrice Rushen - what else would you throw in a brine that comes in a stick? Smells like Christmas.

Rick James - what comes in a ... hold it... ****e... Not 3 pods, 3 CLOVEs... a clove of smashed rick james. LOL a CLOVE.

Prince is Onion.

You got boil and cool and a boogie night is just a night.

Okay NOW HOLD ON TO YOUR WIGS. IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND IN THE BUSINESS OR ARE ROCKAFELLER.... ADD GUINNESS STOUT INSTEAD OF WATER

You are funkier than you realize.

Nice looking bird. I dig your video's man.

D'angelo tore that performance up. I remember watching it when Chris Rock's HBO show was on. And listening to it again I wish Anthony Hamilton would have been there to back him up. That would have made the funk Extra SOULful.

Nice! I'm a carcass picker and don't really give a crap about table presentation and carving the bird-too whitebread for me.

Nice background beats to the video.

If you dig Robert Randolph and the Family Band check out any of the Sacred Steel compilations from Arhoolie, they all kick some serious A$$! Campbell Brothers made the hairs on my back stand up!
I saw RR at the Crocodile in Seattle a few years back and Dan Tyack got onstage with his pedal steel and just tore the place down! Live at the Wetlands was pretty much the show. Blew me away when he played with the North Mississippi All Stars and the WORD tour.

Like dull knife just ain't cuttin'-you just talkin' loud and sayin' nuthin'!
