Quick question from a newbie building a smoker. I have a 24" round X 52" length smoker pipe with a 24" round X 20" length firebox. I am almost ready weld the two round parts together but I wanted opinions on the size hole between the firebox and smoker. What would be the be proper dimension? When I mate them up and I measure from the upper most part on the firebox to the lowest portion of the smoker for the hot air to flow, what should this dimension be?
Other helpful info: I plan to use tuning plates and I have a 5" pipe for a smokestack
