But I smoked my first shoulder yesterday. It came out 10x better than I expected for my first cook. People couldn't eat enough of it. I felt I should share haha
 
Congrats. I was quite pleased with my first butt, I was expecting a disaster. The more you make, the better they get. Keep on smokin!!!
 
Yep congrats on the good smoke. I'll never forget my first shoulder that actually came out good. Many mistakes to get there though. That was long before I found this forum.
 
I really have to give props to this forum, I don't think it would have come out worth anything had I not done much research here

Shoulder is a good place to start - cheap price and hard to mess up.

Just gets more fun with tinkering flavors and fine tuning.
 
Yeah, the dinner was in a hurry and pictures just didn't happen. Plus, I got excited. When I picked the butt up and the bone just fell out, I completely forgot cameras even existed haha
 
Being a butt man myself, I say if you got it, flaunt it! Thats not bragging.... your just excited about an accomplishment. Nice work!:bow:
