Default Selling my 1st Brisket & Pork Butt

Looking back to “helping” my dad make his UDS (ugly drum smoker) I have ALWAYS loved barbecue. I was never into helping him with the hard part, but I always loved helping him not waste any of the delicious brisket/pork/chicken/turkey/etc that he smoked.

During this quarantine, I decided it was time to purchase a smoker. My dad bought my a Weber kettle when I moved out and got married and I have been in love with it. I’ve used it a TON, so sticking with Weber I purchased a 22inch Weber Smokey Mountain, and of course... have fell in love with it as well haha. I just started smoking back in March, and I would post my pictures and ask for help.. and all of a sudden people started asking me to smoke things for them.. so I finally gave in to some coworkers, smoked a whole brisket and a couple pork butts. They have all went on and on about my burnt ends, sliced brisket, and the pulled pork.... long story short, I’ve got a brisket on my smoker now for some other coworkers at work and planning on smoking a couple briskets next weekend as well 😂.

And that's how it starts. 1 or 2 here and there. Then it's 12 briskets.

Yep, you are cursed. Once you find this place and it makes you a better cooker, you are the one all of your friends go to for good BBQ, and a lot of times it's hard to say no, so there go your weekend plans. Great looking food, btw.

Congrat's on your first sale. Compliments about your BBQ is nice but cash is even better.

Beware doing this as a side business. I ruined a few hobbies like woodworking trying to make a few bucks. Got so tired of cabinets and entertainment centers I sold everything and turned my shop into a man cave. You can burn out so watch it. I give some que away but have no desire to sell it.

Exactly! Cooking a brisket... fun. Cooking 8 briskets for a party you're not going to...work.
