So after your firebox repair, has the firebox held up under a good fire?
Have you used it often since the repair?

To be honest the Kamado has become more of a conversation piece, it is over 50 years old. I have not done any serious cooking on it, I have to many other cooker's to choose from.

Sorry for the lack of report on the repairs.

Thanks for the reply. The guy I bought it from used it regularly. I am hoping to too. I am just trying to find out what repairs worked the best.

What I'd like to know from the person who knows about these is:

If someone comes across a deal like this, and does a reasonable repair like MS will do, what is the life expectancy of the cooker?

And what about use: okay to use it every sat & sunday afterwards? Will one repaired and in this condition hold up to that type of use?

If you don't mind answering, that is.

I am wanting to know this too. The main concern is the firebox holding up. The rest should hold up for years, improving with age.
