Question for an Arizona Brethren
I am looking for someone on here who either knows how and can weld my Expanded Metal to my grate. OR knows somone who can do it.
I tried the stanless steel zips, and i also tried wire tie and its just not doing it for me. I want someting more sturdy and i dont have a welder or welding skills. Last edited by NoviceBBQmovinUp; 03-19-2010 at 12:03 PM.. |

When I had a smoker trailer, I drilled several holes in the angle iron,
so I could use stainless steel bolts to attach the expanded metal grate to the angle iron...that way it was easier to clean under it or replace it; if I waned too. Instead of welding it. It depends on how yours is built; if you can do it this way or not.

I was thinking of something completely different.
If nobody here is able to help you...you might try someplace like a custom trailer builder; or an independent car repair place. They can probably weld something small like that for just a few dollars. There are probably quite a few places like that in the Phoenix area.

Can't help with the welding, I don't have a single weld in my UDS. I used Bolts to ring the Basket and used UBolts to attach it to the grate. You can see the Bolts on each side and the UBolts in the bottom, I put the Chain through the Ubolts.
May be a thought if you don't want to mess with welding.
