Default my uds build for my uncle

quick question... i have an old weber kettle lid, that i want to use as the lid, but the lid obviously does not fit completely... i want to cut the top lip off in order to make it work... has anyone else done this before to make it work?

thanks... ill post the completed pix when the lid and casters are on

sorry for the sideways pictures... i dont know why it did that...

Here's my UDS. Pretty standard. 3 3/4" pipe inlets, 2 with caps, 1 with a riser pipe and ball valve for fine tuning. Weber grill racks and a fire basket made out of expanded steel wrapped around a weber 18" grill rack. As soon as I can figure out how to upload a couple more pics I will.

My UDS and 3 helpers. Well 2.5 of them made the photo. I used the KISS method for the most part. (3) 3/4" intakes 1 - 1 with ball valve. Bottle opener and shelf mods. used brass fitting for thermo and probe access - sealed with cork will be seasoning it this afternoon
