Another shocking day on the high plains. Wife requested chili. Chili with black beans for Frito Pie. Thy shall be done.
2 strips bacon
1# lean ground beef
1/4 chopped purple onion
2 plump cloves garlic, chopped
1 small can tomato paste
1 can black beans, rinsed
1 cup black coffee, 1/2 cup water
2 tablespoon Fiesta Mild Chili Seasoning
1tablespoon cumino
1tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Green Chile Powder
1 teaspoon Cooper’s Old Town

Using coffee or black tea in soups stews and chili is normal in our house. Beans sometimes, sometimes not. Wife grew up with beans our house was “sometimes”. One of my best memories of chili each person at the table (2 adults 4 kids) got their own sleeve of crackers and there’d be a couple bottles of ketchup, the kind you had to get flowing with a butter knife or inverted cap slapped. There was a lot of eating and not much talking when Mom or Dad cooked chili

That looks great Adams! It's snowing here this morning and I could sure use a bowl of that. I love chili, beans or no beans. I like em both. but I don't think I would be able to say no to the Fritos.
