thats an insane find. heck, call weber, maybe they still have some legs hanging around as there wasn't a big need for them.

Cool find.
If you want to use it until you get the legs for it, find an old TV dinner tray with legs and cut a hole in the top to drop the SJ into.
Then again, I do tend to be redneck.

Nice thing about using that, or any, SJ as a mini-WSM is that you can just remove the tamale pot and your SJ is back to being an SJ.

Exactly. Absolutely no alteration on any part of the SJ required for use as a mini-wsm.

as good a shape that this is in, i would not use it. its just a collectable to be looked at and enjoyed. i have a new old go anywhere that will never be used. just to be looked at and enjoyed. now i don't normaly follow this as most times i think everything should be used but i think there needs to be exceptions.

Good point. If the OP is not into collectibles he should perhaps find the original legs for it and list it on Ebay or where ever.

Hey Neo,
Did a little lookin' around the interwebs and found that the style of legs you need were used up until at least 1981 ("C" date code).

If I find one, I'll get it and send you the legs.

Of course, someday I'll come looking for a favor...

I most likely wont ever use it. It's just too minty. I'll put it next to my Homer Simpson SJ and enjoy.

Thanks. I'm gonna keep an eye out. It shouldn't be too difficult to find. It does appear that the older legs were a bit taller. It's hard to tell.

Here are what your legs are supposed to look like. I have the same grill. These are not the legs used up till '81. These are older than that and will be damn near impossible to find. In any case, its a grill worth holding onto...thats for sure.

I know two people who have those legs: Duke and me. Problem is they are attached to a Red and Speckled 1973 Smokey Joe.

Real nice!!! I love the look of the old webers!! They never show up in la at all. I mean, it's so rare.
If they did my wife would be having a heart attack because I could be a collector real easy!!

To add to Javahogs leg design, here is a Galley Que setup and one more on an older red Smokey
