Default Horizon Convection Plate for Chargriller Outlaw?

I am thinking of purchasing a Horizon convection plate (the one for 20" smokers) to be used in my Chargriller Outlaw. http://http://www.horizonbbqsmokerss...sh--For/Detail

Has anyone used one? If so, does it fit and has it produced results?

An alternative is to turn over the fire grate ash pan that it came with and drill holes in it. Alot cheaper.

Thanks for any help.
