Default KC coin flip?

With limited time in KC today we are deciding between Q39 and Slap's. It's a coin flip for us so all opinions are valued.

Plowboy's FTW!

It would be hard to go wrong with Slap's or Q39, but Plowboy's BBQ is also very good!

Both are awesome.

Slaps more of a cool bbq joint..counter service..pic nik tables. Basic bbq menu. Don't forget to try their potaoe casserole.

Q39...restaurant feel nice atmosphere more upscale feel. Menu has more exotic choices.

Q39 for sure - very consistent between all my visits. Plowboys....not as consistent, and I live right by there and have gone often.

I really liked Slaps too though I've only gone a couple times. Their brisket was on the same level as Q39.

I took some out of town guests to slaps, and they really liked it (as did I). I can't speak to Q39, but I haven't heard any complaints other than the waiting time to get in.

Not sure why you have to choose just one. When I'm traveling, I typically plan a first lunch, followed by a second lunch. Sometimes, there is even a third lunch.

You could eat at a different place for each meal for a month and never hit them all here.

Plowboys is straight awful. Brisket is dry as a bone and you need a knife to cut it. I live right up the street from their main location. After 15+ visits of giving them time after time to redeem themselves, I would choose Arby’s or firehouse over plowboys.
