Default Banh Mi

I had intended to make some pulled pork Banh Mi for Pulled pork throw down, but life got in the way and I didn't get to smoking the butt until today.

Rubbed the butt with K-Mama sauce (a locally made korean hot sauce)
Seasoned with All purpose rub mixed with Chinese 5 spice.

*Note, I have no affiliation with them, just supporting a local MN Company for product I like a

After an hour on the smoker

Ready to pull (the color/glare gives it on odd sheen)

First few pulls off, nice smoke ring

All sandwich fixings

Sandwich almost complete

And final product. Didn't get a great angle, but was hungry. The bun split in two during assembly making it hard to get photo I wanted. Was time to eat and wife was already laughing at me for taking pictures, so

It was an excellent sandwich, Bahn Mi's are one of my favorite. I usually make with pork loin thats been marinated in soy/fish sauce/hosin/garlic and few other thigns or pork belly, but pulled pork worked well do. I thought about making a sauce for pork, but since wife wouldn't eat it, just skipped it, and honestly didn't need it.

If you havent had Banh Mi, highly recommend. The pork, the pickled carrots and daikon, jalapenos, and cilantro all make for flavor combo. There are many variations (Many include pate) to adjust.

Killer, Adam!

Banh Mi Sammiches are absolutely in the top tier of my favorite meals out there.

Yours has flavor written all over it!

Thanks for sharing. I think I'm headed to the local Vietnamese bakery and Banh Mi shop this week because of you.

Can't see pics but really want to! Very interested to see a new way to do pork butt.

(I started using https://imgur.com/upload to load pics. Really easy and haven't had issue yet )
