Default Stainless Steel in - galvanized out

A BIG thank you to those that kept me from ending up on the 2005 Darwin Awards :) I went to Home Depot and all they had was zinc coated sheet metal so I walked around and found a stainless steel mud pan designed for holding joint compound. I used a 4 in grinder with cut-off blade to easily cut it into two. Two other cuts and a drilled hole later, I installed it and it fit great. It only cost $7 and some change and the other half of the pan was used to make my brother one for his bandera. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend. Thanks again for the input.

Ahhh, another job well done.

Always good to ask. Now we'll look forward to hearing about the first smoke.

Again, get over to Cattle Call and introduce yourself.

Good choice. Sounds like you are all set and ready to enjoy some great BBQ. I have noticed that with the baffle you need a smaller fire and to watch the temp a little closer at first. The baffle puts you back up the learning curve a bit and it is better to error on the low side of the temperature than on the hot side to ensure a successful cookoff.
