AS the Team bearing the Name of our Group, We do contests in Northeast. We hope to get out of our comfort zones this year and travel a little.

2008 season is anything available from May thru October in the NE. We are usually late signups.

We cook from here.

Pits are any of:
Custom Klose Backyard Chef
Custom Klose Offset Vertical(MoaB)
SpiceWine SuperMedium with Stoker
*Bionic Bandera (Heavily modified) <-- favorite. :)
And theres Always 2 Smokey mountains at all contests.

Committals so far are:
Battle of the BbQ Brethren Oct 2008
Hudson Valley Ribfest Aug 2008.
American Royal 2008
Possibly Jack Daniels invitational 2008(we're in the draw).
GAB (??? Possible since GOTB is postponed)

Teams consists of Myself, my son james, Scott(Yakfishinfool) and 2 others

Always have 1-2 spots open for "pit bitch"
MUST BE TENURED MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING.
As stated in Banner requirements. No pecker heads allowed.

A question: What does a volunteer have to do/bring on the day of??
I read watq? blog, to bring beer, eats etc. Is money expected. Or is meat expected?? I am ignorant/naive on what to do.

All that stuff would be worked out with the individual teams prior to the event. There are alot of dependencies that change from place to place and team to team.

Last year, I volunteered to help out Hawgsnheifers with competing at Osage City.
I decided that I would bring everything I needed to compete on my own and I was able to provide some items that Todd was missing - like some supper for us and beer for visitors Friday night and breakfast and coffee Saturday morning.
It's a small price to pay for the experience, you're right.
