Default Stickers on the Outside of a UDS?

I am planning on building my UDS in San Diego Charger colors.

If I put a sticker on the outside is it going to melt?

I want the logo to look like this.

I would say it depends on the temperature tolerance of the sticker. Get a reading of how hot the exterior of your UDS is when it is running, and then compare.

If you think the sticker will have heat issues as described above, my suggestion would be to apply that sticker to a piece of sheet metal. Then cut the outline. You could then mount this with a decent air gap. Then again, if its a cheap sticker just give it a whirl. I would at least look for the vinyl stickers as they should hold up a little better.

Then again, that is a fairly simple design that I would bet either you or someone you know could actually paint on the drum.

You could paint it on.

I would give the magnet a shot for $12. Probably the easiest solution.

We use magnets and stickers with great success so either would work in my opinion

Probably depends on the team too. I completely understand your concern.
Now if it were a COLTS sticker we were discussing, I'm sure it would be fine.

....just sayin.

My sticker is still on after three+ years although it's a little darker than when it went on. Nothing special just something off eBay.

I'd investigate what colors are available in the high heat paint and paint it on... that logo shoudln't be hard to mask out and paint...

do as the colonel said ,i used a piece of thin sheet metal & cut to outline of door magnet, use a couple 3/4 or 1 in. square tubing riveted to drum then rivet sheet metal to tubing & let the magnet do its thang !!!

I put a magnet on mine and it works just fine.

Also you can take it off or move it easily. So far the heat has not effected it in any way. I think I paid less than $15.

Probably will do fine for let's say 3 quarters of a smoke but by the 4th quarter it would probably choke and fall apart....Now if it was a OU sticker you know they have staying power

These are all vinyl stickers, no ill effects in over a year, not high temp paint and the temps have been between 250 to 300 consistantly. Just do it
