Just another smash burger?

Yes it is, but with a small twist on the cheese. Dropped some shredded extra sharp Tillamook cheddar and got it into the oven to bake.

Then smash the burgers on the griddle. Unfortunately I didn't grab any pics of the grilling, but I do have video.

The kid didn't want crispy cheese so she opted for a partial cheese skirt.

Build.

Add fries and dinner is ready!

Ohh I like your thinking. Chopped up bacon in the cheese.

The kid said to leave it in the oven until ready to plate and then put the cheese disk on and it will mold to the burger! This I will do as well.
