Thanks Drifter. This picnic seems to be pretty stubborn. Then again its the first one I've ever made because I normally do butts. Are they more stubborn than butts? It been stalled in the 170's since sometime between 6-7 this morning. Got up after 8:00am to go take a look at the smoker and my temps were down in the 220's. I decided that I would take a look at my coals and give them a stir. The temps quickly went back up into the 240's and I knew that I would be good for a few more hours. I took a couple pic's of the picnic and then decided to take the dog for a walk.
By the time I get back to the house would you know it......it's starting to rain. In the past I have used foil from the handle on my wsm and tucked it under the lid to make a little rain blocker so the smoker does not get filled up with water. It is now pouring ass here so I'm glad I did! With the temps at 178*, rain coming down hard, and I think my coals are starting to go away, I think the indoor smoker will be getting fired up shortly! I can't complain I got over 15 hrs on a single load. Here are some pic's so far.
