Mondays are usually leftover night at our house. So having a decent amount of brisket left from Sunday diner and having read the post about leftover brisket options, I decided to forgo my usual tacos in favor of BRISKET CHILI
My kids were intrigued.
This is what I came up with...
Started with a little less than 2 pounds of brisket69925DDA-1005-48B4-844B-0F332ACDD869.jpg
Chopped some onion, green pepper, and garlic. Found a couple Anaheim peppers I forgot about. Roasted them and in the pot they went.4B54A24A-01CA-41A7-BBC1-F53B2C8A5F09.jpgAfter all that cooked down in went the: spices, tomatoes, paste, beans, 1C.broth,1C.coffee.
Brought all this to a simmer and let it go 2 hours.Turned out great.
This was my first but definitely not my last leftover brisket chili!

Looks like you nailed it. One of my favorite meals.

Now that's my kind of chili!

So I'm curious about the coffee, can you taste it or is it just part of the overall flavor?

You don’t taste coffee per se just adds to the overall flavor, adds “body” I guess.
Something I picked up from an old crusty cook at a bar I worked a number years back.
