Default MOINK BALL certification submission

So I'm standing in Costco trying to explain to the wife why I absolutely have to buy a bag of frozen meatballs. She rolled her eyes, but didn't laugh this time until I started taking pictures.

I defrosted them and the bacon in the microwave. Rolled them in YardBird, wrapped with a twist so that they are completely covered in bacon,

sprinkled with more YardBird,

smoked on the pool filter for 2 hours,

glazed with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce,

then ate them.

My picky-as-heck son said that they were great.

I humbly submit this batch of MOINK balls to get my MOINK BALL certification.

Very nice job! Can you send some to me for the official certification tasting?

Send me your e-mail address for the certificate.

Very nice. I am going to have to kick these out! Thanks for another chance for my wife to laugh at me with my camera and my food boys... LOL.

You got some great looking balls there. The batch I made a few days ago disappeared in about five minutes.

Nice balls, the double wrapping probably gave you the automatic certification from Ron! We all know he loves balls wrapped in bacon, twice!

Grrr ... I can't get certified. Stupid rules require pre-made meatballs.

Yours look fantastic.

She wasn't up to it yesterday - she has a cold, but she had them for lunch today. None left now. I asked what she liked about them. Her quote of the day was, "They are wrapped in bacon, what's not to like?"

Now that's a good wife!

Thanks thirdeye! Yes, the two direction wrap gives you double the fun. Saves cutting each strip of bacon, too.

Thanks. Have you thought about a way to meet the rules? Pre-Made and frozen --- by your neighbor? Maybe that way at least you get the pleasure of the small, semi-dried, thawed out meat balls. I think that is part of the charm of these, actually. If the meat ball is too big or too good, the bacon flavor might get lost. This way the bacon hits first and then there's a chewy little ball inside. Kind of like a Tootsie-Roll Pop, if you know what I mean.

In fact, I may try to make the bacon more like pig candy the next time and roll them in brown sugar and rub...

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-Roll Pop? "One, Two, Three <crunch> ... Three."
