Default Our 1/2 bird

Split the turkey and rotid. it. The other half went to daughter working on twins so she would not have to cook. Covid = no together celebration. This method is far easier than the oil fry and tastes just as good or better (to me). Served with corn casserole, roasted brussell sprouts, cranberry orange relish, and yams (not shown). The bird was 11 1/2# and each half cooked in about 1 1/2 hours. I don't care for turkey (usually) but this method has me thinking about the nest bird.

Wonderful looking meal and cool gesture for making two family meals from one bird. That is a nice carving set.

Thanks on both counts. Took me years to train the wife not to put the carving set into the dishwasher. Now I don't chance it and clean it right after use myself.
