Default soutern sweet tea

Ingredients
3 Family size tea bags Luzianne
2 Cups of cold water
1 Cup of sugar

Directions
We in the south make the best iced tea you'll find. Maybe it's how it's done, or maybe it is the water in the south. Who knows!
We recommend Luzianne Tea Bags if available.
Place the two cups water in a pot and add the tea bags. Bring to a boil, do not continue boiling. Remove from heat and let steep 3-5 mins. Pour warm tea into empty pitcher. Add the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Fill remaining 1 gallon pitcher with cold water.

garnish with a slice of lemon or lime.

some times a tall glass of iced tea just hits the spot when BBQing.

I heard a recipe once that used a can of juice concentrate for sweetener. Anyone try that?

Yes, with a lemonade mix. Not bad.

It also goes very well with all the outstanding red enchiladas and Hatch green chile enchiladas you can find in the City of Crosses!
Not a big fan of the super sweet. Personally, I like it without any sugar and a nice hit of lime or lemon and some mint.

Kyote, I love the Luzianne and the cold water but don't put nuttin' in my tea but ice cubes. You put sugar in there you might ruin my sour disposition!

About 18 years ago I was in California, on the coast; somewhere close to
Jenner. We went to a restaurant there for lunch and ordered some
Iced Tea...it was lightly sweet; and it had a Cinnamon stick in it.

At first I didn't like it; as it tasted so different; but, after several sips
I began to like it. By the time I had finished the glass; I was really
liking it. A Lemon, or Lime wedge goes great with it too.

I love sweet tea, I do make mine with honey though. And I drink it lighter than most Southerners I suspect, at least the transplanted Southerners in CA. It is better than soda on a hot summer day, although home made root beer with cane sugar could over take it.
