Seems the PVC is the least of your worries using a found item (UDS) to cook it in and a grate made from "found items" for charcole and your smoking with wood that could have all kinds of chemicals in or on it or even a lead bullet in it!!!! The pipe from lowes was it purchased and returned or what? To many worries, use the pipe clean it to your standards diswasher washed is the best in my opinion. Dont dig up a piece to use but by all means use a new or virgin piece and dont sweat it. If that is the worst we ever eat than our problems are minimal....LOL
Great Idea on the piston Ill make one!!!
