Break from Q Porn for THIS kinda porn...
Driving home today from Doorbuster's house, I was drawn to the sign "Fresh Juicy Missouri Peaches". A few hours later, I surprised my wife with peach cobbler! Thought you'd like to take a look... I'm eating what's in the bowl as I post. Well actually, I'm eating a second bowl just like it!

Looks great!
I was just looking at our peach trees tonight. The early bloomer didn't make, but the late bloomer ought to have enough for a cobbler or two. There is nothing in the world like a home grown peach. |

Recipe is easy...
Take a half stick of butter and smear it in the bottom of a cake pan. Save back the other half stick. Slice peaches to bite size or preferred size. Peel can be left on or taken off (I prefer it on). Mix your batter for the bottom: 2 1/4 cups sugar 2 1/4 cups flour 1 1/2 cups milk 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Mix well and pour in the cake pan with smeared butter on bottom. Dump all the sliced peaches on top. Takes about 12-15 peaches depending on how big they are. Juice from two lemons sprinkled on top of the peaches, followed by 1/4 cup of sugar. you could mix it in before pouring on the batter if you want. I got in too big of a hurry and forgot. Slice the remaining 1/2 stick of butter and place on top of the peaches. Bake at 350* for an hour. Mine actually really took about an hour and 15 minutes. I like cobbler and pies hot with ice cream so if you like it that way, don't cool more than an hour! Enjoy!

I like it. Think I'll add a little cinnamon though.
